College Football Picks Week 9

We are back out here making picks. Its been a weird football season for gamblers but heres what I like this week.

Lock of the Week

Georgia -22.5 vs. Florida

Normally the spread on this one is not that big, but Florida kind of sucks. The Gators cant play offense and the Bulldogs play really good defense. Unless Florida can find a way to make Anthony Richardson an aerial threat in the next 48 hours I have a feeling Georgia is going to get up early in this one and then just lean on them. See the Oregon game.

Chaos Parlay

Michigan -27.5 vs Michigan State (+150)

Penn State ML vs Ohio State (+450)

Kentucky ML at Tennessee (+325)

Now I am not saying do this. Or to put a large sum of money on this but hear me out. Michigan is not happy after what happened last year at East Lansing and is going to put their foot on the gas pedal and never let up. 2021 Michigan State without Kenneth Walker is 2022 Michigan State. They just arent that good and Walker wont be there to bail them out. I also like JJ McCarthy over 215 passing yards because the Spartans are not good in the secondary.

Ohio State at Penn State is the biggest swing on this. Generally Ohio State loses to one random team every year and I think that Penn State is that team this year. Its at Penn State which is a tough place to play. The two toughest teams Ohio State has played have given them some trouble. Notre Dame on opening night took them to the wire with defense and running the ball. Iowa had the game close for the first 8 drives until their lack of offense led to Ohio State blowing it up in the second half. But watching those games if you can stop the run and run the ball, you can compete with Ohio State. Penn State had a bounce back game last week against Minnesota after what Michigan did to them. Im not saying its gonna happen, but I am saying it could.

Tennessee is the surprise team of the year. They have a Heisman trophy candidate at quarterback all of the sudden. They score a lot of points. 3 of 4 of their big wins this year though have been close. Pitt, who is not all that good, was a one score game (34-27). Florida, who also is not all that good, was a close one (38-33). Alabama in the game of the year they won on a last second field goal at home (52-49). Kentucky has themselves a pro level quarterback as well. Kentucky also always plays them close. Their two losses this season have come with an injured Will Levis, and again Im not saying it happens but I think Tennessees luck runs out.
