2025 NFL Mock Draft
The 2025 NFL draft is officially here. Looking back I guess this is the only blog I write now so I should get on that. Its probably my only tweet of the year so I should get on that as well. Overall I should put more time into content and trying to find a career I actually enjoy and not just have a blogthat puts out one post a year. Regardless I have watched the tape. I have listened to the analysis. Here is my official 2025 NFL Mock draft
DISCLAIMER: My official mock draft is based off who I would pick if I was the GM. It is not based off who I think they are going to pick or who the media says they are going to pick. I look at the roster. I look at their yearly salary breakdown. I look at how the player fits into the roster. And finally I take the guy who I would want. Also no trades in this mock draft because those are impossible to predict and could literally happen at any pick.
1) Tennessee Titans - Abdul Carter EDGE, Penn State
Its one of the worst kept secrets that the Titans are taking Cam Ward here but I disagree. Callahan is going into his second year and has already had to deal with Will Levis as the QB of the future. Usually coaches dont get a lot of shots at a QB of the future and I dont think Cam Ward is going to be anything special. I would say hes going to be a Derek Carr level quarterback. With the class coming out next year I would rather build a roster that was awful last year and hitch my wagon to one of those guys.
Abdul Carter was the best player in college football last year and yo could tell when he was on the field. Hes a versatile player who does the most important job on the defense. I really dont think he is that far off from Micah Parsons and not just because they wear the same number. I think this is the best move for the Titans but good luck with the Cam Ward to Calvin Ridley thing this year.
2) Cleveland Browns - Cam Ward QB, Miami
Kind of the opposite thing with the Browns. Kevin Stefanski and Andrew Berry are probably on their last chance and their starting quarterback is either Kenny Pickett or 40 year old Joe Flacco right now. They honestly should have been fired but its the Browns and I work with what I have. Cam Wards gonna give you your best shot at success this year. I dont think its going to work out and their probably back at square one next year but hey at least you only have one more year and $80 million of Deshaun Watson contract left to pay.
As a prospect I think Ward will be fine. Again I think a good comparison is Derek Carr. I think hes going to put up stats and have some moments, but at the end of the day whatever team hes on is going to be like yeah but we arent winning playoff games. He just makes too many dumb mistakes and in 5 seasons of college football never really won anything. Miami was in a lot of holes that Ward ended up digging them out of because of his mistakes made earlier in the game. Also that shit where he just stands there like hes playing in a Turkey bowl with his nephews probably wont play in the NFL.
3) New York Giants - Travis Hunter WR, Colorado
Now I did put just WR as Hunters position. I just dont see a world where Hunter plays both ways and thrives. Hes 190 pounds and struggles against physical receivers (see last year against Stanford when Elic Ayamanor went for 13 catches for 294 yards). I think his receiver comp would be somewhere between an Odell Beckham and more physically gifted Devonte Smith. So just let him be that. A Hunter and Nabers receiving core sets whoever is playing QB up for success.
4) New England Patriots - Josh Simmons T, Ohio State
First real shocker of the mock. Most have LSU tackle Will Campbell going here but I think Simmons is the better player and if he didnt get hurt in the middle of the year. Simmons has everything your looking in a LT physically, athletically, and on film. Hes a perfect player to pair with new franchise QB Drake Maye for the next 10-15 years.
5) Jacksonville Jaguars - Mason Graham DT, Michigan
Now the Jags are rumored to be considering Jeanty here and I dont think you can really go wrong with Jeanty, but Graham is also a safe prospect that immediately helps the worst part of the team. The Jags desperately need to improve their defense, especially the run defense. Graham helps both against the run and with the pass rush. I think Graham has a lot of former 49ers stud Justin Smith to his game. Hes just a dude. He fucks plays up and can get in your ass. The Jags desperately need that.
6) Las Vegas Raiders - Ashton Jeanty RB, Boise State
This is a fun pick. Jeanty will look sick in a Raiders jersey and will probably be a best seller this year. Watching Jeanty its hard not to see Ladanian Tomlinson. Both are smaller sturdy backs that are just tough to bring down. The vision and the contact balance is off the charts. Step in the right direction for the Raiders.
7) New York Jets - Tyler Warren TE, Penn State
I think Tyler Warrens pro comp is Rob Gronkowski. The Jets need help in the passing game and I would take Warren over all the receiver prospects. Warrens gonna catch 100 passes and block his ass off. I think as a rookie hes going to be Justin Fields guy. Also with all the wildcat stuff Penn State did with him I would love to see a Fields-Warren goal line package.
8) Carolina Panthers - Jalon Walker EDGE, Georgia
Panthers have to go defense here and their best pass rusher is 32 years old Jadaveon Clowney. Walkers a versatile pass rusher who played off ball and off the edge. This is kind of a steal here. I think Walker is a suped up version of Hassan Reddick. He can be a 10 sack guy and a leader on defense. Easy pick for the Panthers.
9) New Orleans Saints - Will Campbell T, LSU
See everyone wins in the Kohler Mock draft. Another great pick and great fit here for the Saints. Another team that needs a QB and Im not sure whats going on with Derek Carr. The whole roster is really poorly built with a lot of bad contracts and aging players. If I am New Orleans I am giving Kellen Moore 3 years of rebuilding and it starts here with a cornerstone offensive lineman. I think Campbell is a starting LT in the league and will help whoever comes in at QB in the future.
10) Chicago Bears - Kelvin Banks T, Texas
The Bears did a lot to fix to the offensive line this offseason but still need a left tackle and Banks can be that guy. If Banks cant be that guy he would be a great guard and a lot of the guys the guys Chicago brought in are on short term deals. Ben Johnsons offense is built on a strong offensive line and running the ball. Kelvin Banks helps them do that.
11) San Francisco 49ers - Armand Membou T, Missouri
Membou has been getting a lot of hype this draft season because of his athleticism. I think hes a going to be a very good right tackle for a team that does a lot of zone blocking and play action pass. That makes San Francisco a match made in heaven. San Frans another team with some weird contracts and aging stars. Trent Williams is 37 and has been mulling retirement. Membou would be perfect to fill in when he hangs it up.
12) Dallas Cowboys - Omarion Hampton RB, North Carolina
The Cowboys and Dak Prescott are best when they can run the ball. Hampton is a legit do it all 3 down back and would put up big time numbers in Dallas. Hes been getting a lot of Joe Mixon comparisons but I think hes even better then Mixon was coming out of college. Dudes big, fast, can catch the ball, and block in pass pro. Big season coming for Hampton.
13) Miami Dolphins - Malaki Starks S, Georgia
Dolphins are another team in a weird spot where it looks like the coach is on his way out probably this year, and the QB is not helping them win games (and is a hit away from retirement). Starks has been a stud a Georgia the last three years and would be a staple in the Dolphins secondary for a long time. I think if you put Starks in a deep safety role and just have him get the ball hes going to force turnovers.I think a good pro comparison for Starks is Earl Thomas.
14) Indianapolis Colts - Colston Loveland TE, Michigan
Tyler Warrens pro comp is Rob Grownkowski, I think Lovelands pro comp is Travis Kelce. Loveland wont make a difference in the run game. He is more of a get in the way blocker. Hes going to do his damage flexed into the slot and catching the ball in space. Do they have a quarterback who can get him said ball? Probably not. Who knows maybe Richardson puts it all together. But probably not.
15) Atlanta Falcons - Mike Green EDGE, Marshall
The Falcons hate getting out the quarterback and refuse to draft actual pass rushers. So we fix that here and get them one here. I thought for sure Green going to Marshall would hurt his draft stock but his game against Ohio State and running through Josh Conerlys face at the Senior Bowl kinda silenced that. His pro comparison is Khalil Mack but to be clear he is not as good as him. He plays like him and has the capability to be a very good pass rusher.
16) Arizona Cardinals - Tyler Booker G, Alabama
This is a safe pick here for the Cardinals. Booker is a guy you could put on the left side of the line next to Paris Johnson and build around. Kyler Murray is what is holding this team back because hes just not that good. But Booker helps. Just let me know when youre ready to move on from Murray and try to be a legit contender.
17) Cincinnati Bengals - Derrick Harmon DT, Oregon
The Bengals are using roughly 35% of their cap space on three players on offense, so they need to improve the defense. Harmons a productive defensive tackle that would pair well with Kris Jenkins in the middle. If they can improve the defense and get a few more stops the Bengals are real contenders in the AFC.
18) Seattle Seahawks - Grey Zabel G/C, North Dakota State
Zabel can play anywhere on the line. The Seahawks want to be a run heavy team. This is an easy pick because he is a day one starter thats going to help the run game and Sam Darnold.
19) Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Jihaad Campbell LB, Alabama
Lavonte David is nearing the end of his career and as long as the medical checks out for Campbell he is going to end up being one of the best players in this draft. He is good in every phase and is just a playmaker. He kind of reminds me of what Ruben Foster was supposed to be if he had his shit together. Its a perfect situation for Campbell and the Buccaneers.
20) Denver Broncos - TreVeyon Henderson RB, Ohio State
Im not one who is usually for a bunch of running backs in the first round, but it is a weak draft at just about every position except running back. Sean Payton loves to run the ball and always had two good backs in New Orleans. I think Henderson and Audric Estime compliment each other perfectly, and having an actual running game will help Bo Nix out a lot. The Broncos are going to be a real problem next year.
21) Pittsburgh Steelers - Jaxson Dart QB, Ole Miss
The only quarterbacks on the Steelers roster at the time of writing this are Mason Rudolph and Skylar Thompson. I wouldnt wait for Rodgers to decide what hes doing and not have a backup plan. I do think Dart is a day 2 guy, but out of necessity I have him here. Hes another guy thats tough to project because the offense he played in doesnt have a lot of reading the defense. Its mostly RPOs and tempo. The other thing about Dart is he started a lot of games and just didnt win a lot of big ones. You would think with all the resources Ole Miss pours into their program their would be higher expectations, but never really sniffed the playoffs. Dart can run though and has one of the better arms in the draft, so hopefully Mike Tomlin and the talent on the Steelers on the roster can help elevate Dart.
22) Los Angeles Chargers - Luther Burden WR, Missouri
A receiving core of Burden, Ladd McConkey, and Quentin Johnston would really open things up for Justin Herbert. They all complement each other really well with McConkey being a possession slot receiver Johhnston being a fast big bodied deep threat and then Burden being more of a Deebo Samuel that can do damage close to the line of scrimmage with run after the catch.
23) Green Bay Packers - Will Johnson CB, Michigan
Last year Green Bay looked like they had one of the most promising up and coming young teams in the NFL. This year they look they have a roster with a lot of question marks. Will Johnson may be the best corner in this draft. I think he would be at his best in a defense that plays off zone and lets him read the QB and make plays. Thats what Green Bay does and with Jaire Alexanders future in question this fills a major hole.
24) Minnesota Vikings - Jahdae Barron CB, Texas
The Vikings are seemingly going all in on this season. Any team thats going all in on a season shouldnt have Jeff Okudah out there as a starting corner. Barron is a versatile defensive back who can play outside, in the slot, or at safety. He is a very similar player to Brian Branch or Mike Saristil and is a guy thats just going to make plays for you.
25) Houston Texans - Matthew Golden WR, Texas
The Texans receiving core outside of Nico Collins has been a disaster and they dont know when Tank Dell will come back and if hes going to be the same player. Golden perfectly compliments Collins and at the end of last season looked like the best player in college football that isnt Jeremiah Smith. Hes a solid route runner, with great hands, and top notch speed. The offensive line is still a mess, but at this spot you cant pass on Golden.
26) Los Angeles Rams - Carson Schwesinger LB, UCLA
This is a weird pick because Schwesinger probably shouldnt be a first round pick, but the Rams dont have any linebackers. Their only linebacker on the roster that got any play last year was undrafted free agent Omar Speights. Schwesinger is a former walkon who wracked up a ton of tackles last season and has had a hot draft process. This may be a reach but the Rams need someone that can play linebacker badly.
27) Baltimore Ravens - Mykel Williams EDGE, Georgia
I dont think Williams will be here, but this is very much something that would happen for the Ravens. A young talented player just kind of falls to them and theyre like yeah why not. They have guys where Williams doesnt have to be the guy right now and can rotate in and in a season or two hes going to be a real guy for Baltimore.
28) Detroit Lions - Shemar Stewart EDGE, Texas A&M
Another guy that probably wont be there at this point, but maybe. This is very much a Brad Holmes pick. Stewart didnt have the stats at A&M but his RAS was a perfect 10. Is there anything Brad Holmes loves more then an SEC defender with a perfect RAS? Why I wouldnt be worried about his sack production is because the motor is there. He goes balls to the wall every play. Even when they were up 20 points. Hes a risky prospect but at this point its worth taking someone that could be a better pro then college player here in the first round.
29) Washington Commanders - Nick Emmanwori S, South Carolina
I think Will Harris is the best Commanders safety right now which is a huge issue for a team that wants to contend. Emmanwori is an athletic freak that may take some time to settle in, but he is a real deal playmaker that can help get the ball back for Jayden Daniels.
30) Buffalo Bills - Walter Nolen DT, Ole Miss
Nolen has a very similar play style to Ed Oliver so maybe not the most complimentary pick here. I think Nolen at the beginning of his career would be best as a guy that just goes after the quarterback. Solid pick here for the Bills and a talented prospect to help the Bills get over the hump.
31) Kansas City Chiefs - Aireontae Ersery T, Minnesota
Ersery has the tools to be a legit left tackle. The Chiefs need to protect Mahomes. That is clear after the Super Bowl. This could end up being a steal.
32) Philadelphia Eagles - Donovan Jackson OL, Ohio State
Why not for the Eagles. Jackson could legit play all 5 spots on the line. Lane Johnson is nearing the end of his career. Mekhi Becton is gone. The Eagles won a Super Bowl with strong line play so lets keep the line strong with a very high floor prospect.
